Living in Europe but trading stocks and ETFs on US Stock exchanges – which taxes should I pay?
Hey, guys,
Listen, I am a citizen of Latvia (Europe), most of the time spend in Spain (wireing money from both Latvia and Spain) but trading ETFs on US Stock Exchanges thru Zecco (online broker).
Here come 2 questions:
1. What taxes apply for ETFs in general?
2. In what country should I pay them in my case?
Thank you,
Vadim
There are no taxes specifically on ETFs. You probably need to pay tax in Spain since that is where you live but you should check with your county’s tax code as well because they might require you to pay taxes because you are a citizen there.
